The National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution
was founded on October 11, 1890.
DAR is a
non-profit and non-political organization for women 18
years and older. There are
nearly 180,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters
in the United States and throughout other parts of the
world. Michigan has 54 Chapters. Monguagon
Chapter now has 45 members. NSDAR focuses mainly on
historic preservation, promotion of education and
patriotism. Requirements to become a member are
listed on the NSDAR and MICHIGAN DAR
websites,
